Floors Have Lumps and Humps, Macon, GA

Palmer R. of Macon, GA called Lowcountry Basement Systems after seeing an ad in the Macon Telegraph newspaper featuring the SmartJack System.

In the advertisement, Palmer could see how the crawl space support columns lifted the sinking floors in the picture. It reminded him of the floors in his house. He called Lowcountry Basement Systems and scheduled a free inspection of his home.

Lowcountry Basement Systems went to Palmer’s home and designed a solution that would support the sagging floor areas under his home. The joists and subfloor would be supported by crawl space support columns, SmartJacks, that supported PowerBrace Beams (steel I-beams) that ran across multiple joists.

After the floor was stabilized, Lowcountry Basement Systems installers adjusted the SmartJacks to lift the sagging areas of the floor. Palmer was relieved to have his floors fixed!

Richard M. of Macon, GA saw and ad on Macon’s NBC for Lowcountry Basement Systems and called for help with his crawl space. Over the years plumbing leaks and moisture issues plagued Richard’s older home which he wanted to leave to his children. He knew it was time to have it fixed.

Half Basement, Half Crawl Space is Fixed in Macon, GA

Mark and Lee W., of Macon GA had been living in their home since 1996. Every time it rained they suffered. Their half basement, half crawl space created a lot of problems when it got wet. Mudslides, mold, and odors became common nuisances.

One day, Mark called Lowcountry Basement Systems and asked to have an inspector look at his problem. Brian Townsel, an inspector for Lowcountry Basement Systems, did a thorough examination of the foundation. Brian recommended sealing off the crawl space and crawl space vents.

CleanSpace Liner covered the exposed earth to prevent more mudslides. A SmartSump with a WaterWatch II alarm pumped the water away from the foundation and the vents were sealed to keep the rainwater out.

The project went off without a hitch. Mark and Lee were able to use their space downstairs to store Christmas and Fall decorations. Best of all, no more mud in the house and no more odors.

Slab Piers help an Irwinton homeowner get back in the swing of things!
Teresa P. noticed cracks on her front porch and became concerned. Worried about the long-term consequences of the structural issues, Teresa signed up for an appointment with Lowcountry Basement Systems at the Macon Home Show.

Lowcountry Basement sent one of our foundation specialist to Teresa’s Irwinton home. After evaluating the front porch, we concluded that Teresa’s foundation had in fact fallen victim to foundation settlement. We explained that the installation of the slab pier system would effectively fix her settlement issues. Slab piers are long steel piers that are installed under the slabs that are settling. These piers are driven deep into the earth in soil that not only can support the homeowner’s home, but also lift the once-settled slabs back to their appropriate level.

Teresa agreed to have the slab pier system installed. Foreman Russell Hester and his crew were called in to complete the installation process. With the slab piers successfully installed, Teresa can now peacefully enjoy her front porch.
