Carolyn and Alan M. of Gray, GA had lived in their home for 11 years. Their crawl space had a moisture problem and the plumbing leaks over time did not help the situation. When it rained, the wind blew rainwater into the crawl space through the crawl space vents. Over the years signs of an unhealthy crawl space started to show. Mold appeared on the joists beneath the floor. Nasty, musty odors worked their way into the home, and Alan started suffering from mold allergies.

Carolyn called Lowcountry Basement Systems and scheduled an inspection. Brian Townsel, the inspector did a thorough inspection. He recommended a Complete CleanSpace Encapsulation System to remove moisture from the crawl space. By keeping moisture out of the crawl space mold would not be able to grow. The odors would go away and Alan’s mold allergies would hopefully subside. 

The Complete CleanSpace Encapsulation System started with a layer of CleanSpace Drainage Matting on top of the earth beneath the home. Dimples in the drainage matting would make it easier for water to move to the sump pump. On top of the CleanSpace Drainage Matting, CleanSpace Liner would seal out the humidity. A SmartSump with a WaterWatch II alarm removed water beneath the matting and liner. A newly installed SaniDry CX dehumidifier would make sure the humidity was at acceptable levels.

The crawl space vents were sealed to keep out unwanted humid air and rainwater from entering the crawl space. It was a Complete CleanSpace Encapsulation System with outlets safely moving the unwanted water away from the home.

After the project was complete, Carolyn and Alan were thrilled with the job and Alan’s mold allergies quickly subsided. 

Faye C. of Gray, GA had a concrete problem at her home. Years ago, there was a swimming pool in her yard and the homeowners at the time decided to fill it with concrete and use the area for parking. The weight of the concrete was too much, and it began to settle and crack.

While reading the Macon Telegraph newspaper, Faye saw a concrete lifting and leveling ad by Lowcountry Basement Systems. She called and made an appointment for a free inspection of her sinking concrete. Lowcountry Basement Systems sent Brian Hunter to do the inspection.

Brian measured the cracks and settlement of the concrete and recommend lifting the area that had sunk to prevent any tripping hazard while preventing the problem from getting worse. Brian suggested using PolyLevel, a high-density polyurethane formula that lifts slabs. It is also lightweight and doesn’t add weight to existing soil, and can lift heavy loads.

Faye followed Brian’s recommendations and had Lowcountry Basement Systems do the concrete repair work at her home. There was minimal disruption and the project was completed quickly. After the project, Faye wrote a letter to the Rob Videon (the owner) expressing her gratitude for a job well done.

Joyce G. of Gray, GA had a problem with the concrete around her pool deck. The soil had settled under one area of her deck. The sinking action created a crack and a dangerous tripping hazard around the pool.

Lowcountry Basement Systems sent an inspector to the home and discovered that the pillars in the crawl space were sinking into the ground, causing sections of the floor to sink.
