"Entrepreneurship is at the core of the American dream. It's about blazing new trails, about believing in yourself, your mission and inspiring others to join you in the journey. What sets entrepreneurs apart is the will, courage and sometimes recklessness to actually do it." – Derek Hutson, CEO of Datical

"To be a successful entrepreneur you must have a passion for learning – from customers, employees and even competitors." – James Bedal, CEO of Bare Metal Standard

"Successful entrepreneurs ... have the guts to take a calculated risk and the tenacity and persistence to keep going even when there are bumps in the road."  – Eileen Huntington, co-founder and CEO of Huntington Learning Center

No matter the definition of entrepreneurship, Lowcountry Basement Systems’ CEO, Rob Videon will always have something in common with these professionals. He has a personal commitment to develop, grow, and learn as a leader in his industry. His decisions make an impact and a difference in his business, and his commitment to growth is now stronger than ever.

Rob Videon, owner of Lowcountry Basement Systems, received his Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurial Studies from The School of Entrepreneurship. Rob has spent the last two years dedicated to learning modules and strategies to develop and grow his business, learning from other entrepreneur’s experiences along the way.

“I’m proud to have earned the degree from the school! However, I place much more value in the wisdom received than the honor of the achievement!” said Rob.

This honor and wisdom did not come easily for Rob.

Rob’s daily life is a balancing act. Rob has been rigorously training for a marathon for the past year and dedicates time to learning on his own by reading 30 to 50 books a year!

Even though Rob’s schedule is busy, he still had the desire to develop more as a leader. When the school was introduced to Rob, he jumped at the opportunity to join.

“I first counted the cost of travel expenses and time to commit to the class. I knew it was a wise investment of time and money. Before the school I remember saying I wish I could get more training maybe monthly or every other month so I always have something to work on and keep growing and developing as a leader, the school has provided that structure for me.”

The School of Entrepreneurship

The School of Entrepreneurship was founded by Larry Janesky, founder of Basement Systems Inc. and co-founder of Foundation Supportworks Inc. with 345 dealers in 6 countries, one of which Rob has owned for over 20 years.

The ultimate goal of the program is to teach contractors how to better their business and provide great experiences for their customers. The school conducts live classes that meet in Connecticut, where Larry first built his business, every 6 to 8 weeks. Every live class gives the owners the ability to learn modules and strategies developed by Larry that have helped him build his own business, and it allows the owners to learn and grow from each other’s experiences as well.

Rob felt inspired by Larry Janesky’s passion to help others learn and become successful in their industry.

“Let me start by saying I have had the privilege of learning from Larry Janesky the founder of the School of Entrepreneurship for over 10 years now. I have watched him grow as a leader and he has helped me grow through his transparent leadership.”

Rob participated in daily exercises and videos each week to help him begin his journey of growth and prepare him for the live classes in Connecticut. With Larry Janesky’s help, Rob was on a path to a new understanding of entrepreneurship.

Since joining The School of Entrepreneurship, through implementing what he has learned, Lowcountry Basement Systems has more than doubled their gross revenue. The company received two awards for their outstanding sales in crawl space and foundation repair at the 2017 IMPACT Convention.

“We also improved a majority of our processes all while creating a better environment for our team members. The only way a course like this truly benefits anyone is to put it into practice consistently. I have been in business for over 20 years now and I have grown as a leader more in the last 2 years than all the other years combined.”
