Challenge

Downspouts on the back of Mike Walsh's Charleston, SC home allowed water to seep under the foundation. His backyard flooded after every rain; over time soil under his home eroded away and his house sunk, but just on the back corner. Cracks in his foundation wall appeared.

Solution

Mike Walsh selected Lowcountry Foundation Repair to stabilize his foundation. David Smith of Lowcountry Foundation Repair conducted the inspection; six HP288 push piles were installed along the corner of the foundation, with three piers on each side. The piles, brackets, and coil rods were all made of galvanized steel.

The piles were driven to a pressure of 1800 pounds per sq. in. Depths ranged from 40’ 2” to 61’ 2”. The project took two days to complete.
