Ed Appelbaum of Hilton Head Island, SC wanted to sell his home as soon as possible. However, there was one thing slowing him down. One section of his driveway sunk, creating bumps every time someone parked their car. It also created an eyesore and Ed was concerned that it might negatively impact his sale.

Ed called Lowcountry Basement Systems after seeing a couple of advertisements for concrete repair in the newspaper. Lowcountry Basement Systems sent an inspector to Ed’s home and recommended stabilizing the concrete slab with PolyLevel. PolyLevel is a two-part polyurethane foam that is injected under concrete through dime-sized holes. PolyLevel expands rapidly, filling voids, stabilizing and lifts slabs.

Wet Crawl Space Fixed for Good on Hilton Head Island, SC

Chuck N. of Hilton Head Island, SC called Lowcountry Basement Systems after seeing an advertisement on television for crawl space repair and encapsulation. Chuck, previously had his crawl space sprayed with foam, but there remained a moisture problem under his home. He wanted his crawl space cleaned up and in nice working order for the HVAC and termite professionals.

Lowcountry Basement Systems inspected the crawl space and showed photos of mold growing under the home to Chuck. It was advised to encapsulate the crawl space, sealing the home off from the earth.

The earth continually releases moisture vapor under homes, if the home is not sealed off, joists beams and subfloors can rot from the excess moisture.

Lowcountry Basement Systems fixed Chuck’s crawl space in one week. First, the crawl space was encapsulated, then a SmartDrain was installed. The crawl space vents were sealed, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed and a new crawl space door replaced the old leaky one.

With the moisture issue addressed, mold would not grow.

Chuck was thrilled!
