Nate B. of Walterboro, SC had been experiencing problems with the floor in his kitchen for the past two years. Some spots seemed to sag while other areas bowed. After seeing an advertisement on TV for Lowcountry Basement Systems, Nate called and requested a free inspection of his home.
Billy Brandenburgh, System Design Specialist for Lowcountry Basement Systems, went to Nate’s home and inspected his flooring issue. Billy mapped out the house, checked the level of the floors, interviewed Nate and went under the home to document what he saw.
After his thorough inspection, Billy designed a custom solution to fix the kitchen floor. Billy’s solution called for the installation of a PowerBrace™ that would close the gap between two main joists below the kitchen floor. Billy added three SmartJacks® to provided additional support to the subfloor.
The project was scheduled and completed in one day. The SmartJacks®, each capable of supporting 60,000 pounds, lifted the kitchen floor back into place. While the work was being done, the production team went into the kitchen to measure the progress of the project. After the lift was complete, Nate verified that the bubble levels in the kitchen were level.
